Baby Benjamin came to my home studio when he was 2 weeks old with his parents, Alison and Korbi. I had prepared so many props for him and I was able to use less than half. Many of the props would have required the baby to be really still, which is what you usually get when they are sound asleep, and that was not possible with Benjamin! I had never seen a newborn so awake and aware of his surroundings! The session lasted over 3 hours and I believe he slept for about 10 minutes. The rest of the time he was wide awake, following the camera with his eyes, looking at me wherever I went, and moving his arms and legs like I had never seen before in such a young baby. Imagine: I wrapped him and he managed to take his arms and legs out! Amazing! He was also putting his head up… dear parents, watch out! This kid will be running before you know it 🙂 But it was truly awesome to get so many shots of a newborn baby with his eyes open, and having him awake so long was definitely a new experience and I am so happy to have experienced it.
Look at those blue eyes, that button nose and those lips! Benjamin is just gorgeous and I am so happy I got to capture his first moments.
This was such a sweet family to work and spend time with. Alison and Korbi were constantly grateful and so patient. Thank you for letting me spend time with your baby… Congratulations, Benjamin is adorable. I hope we meet again!
