Family outdoor sessions: 1,5 to 2 hours.
Maternity outdoor sessions: under 1 hour.
Maternity studio sessions: 1,5 hours.

How should I choose: outdoors, at my home or a studio session?

This question is very common, as many families are unsure of what would suit them better.

Outdoors sessions are a lot about connecting with nature and using the natural surroundings as backgrounds. If you like being outdoors, you like nature and you would like beautiful light and colors, then this is for you. If you have young children, this is definitely the best option as they can run around and play and I can capture them in a natural way. These sessions are natural, mostly non-posed, and it’s a lot about capturing your connections and emotions in a relaxed way.

At your home sessions are very relaxed as you will always feel comfortable with where you are, it is what you know and are used to. This is a great option if you have a shy partner, for example! The great thing about this type of sessions is that I will also make photos of your home, the details, the decoration. So the memory created in the images will help you remember in the future, not only your family in itself, but also where you grew up as a family.

Studio sessions are about creating fine art images. We will create a few settings that fit our styles and you will be guided through different poses.

Albums are easy to go back to, look at together as a family, and you can even make more than one and have them as presents for your relatives. The matte paper and colors are of professional quality, the albums open flat, and you can choose to have a landscape or a square format. The number of pages depends on the amount of photos you choose, but there are usually an average of 30 pages. What is your photography style?

I have a unique style of photography, which is a combination of natural, dreamy, ethereal, soft, raw and emotive imagery. The photos I create tell a story and evoke feelings. Some times a photo can be perfect in its composition, sharpness, and all other technicalities. However, I do see beauty in photos that are out of focus and grainy, or that have a creative cropping, or create a special feeling with an extraordinary light.

Sunset is my favorite time to photograph since I simply love the golden light. The warmth this light creates on the images is simply breath taking!

As much as I love the golden light for its warm tones, I am also a fan of grainy and textured black and white images!

I am also a fan of all things vintage and I often incorporate props.

As for the editing, I tend to choose a natural and raw feeling to it, as well as giving the outcome an old look as if it was film.

I will guide you through what to wear, but my style is very simple and -above everything- I want you to be comfortable. I insist on you not wearing matching outfits as this does not look natural and therefore does not fit my style. I can make posed and traditional photos for the first few minutes of the session, but after that I want you to loosen up, have fun, enjoy the moment and show me who you are as a family. I will focus on connections and feelings, since capturing emotions is part of my personal style.

What is your photography philosophy?

I believe that by hiring me, my clients deserve my professional creative vision and technological expertise to create art for them. In order to achieve this, I use a professional camera, I have the latest updates of the editing software, and I often participate in workshops to deepen my knowledge. As an artist, I will create by having a deep understanding of artistic theory, but I will also create by being moved and touched by feelings, watching and appreciating the connection between your family members.

What is your client-service philosophy?

My philosophy on client service relies on creating beautiful friendships with all of my customers that go beyond the day of our session. I am focused on providing the best possible service to my clients. Once you first contact me, I will make sure to have you as a priority and I will contact you as soon as possible. I will assist you in planning your photo session by giving you ideas and suggestions based on my experience. On the day of the shoot I will capture every moment with my artistic vision. Your photos will be an artistic product worthy of the Tammy Nicole Photography brand.
